Heading into a game that could be the coldest in NFL history, San Francisco 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa said he’ll gladly wear his MAGA hat on live TV even if the NFL fines him.
Late last month after sacking the Dallas Cowboys, Bosa interjected himself into an ongoing post-game interview to express his endorsement for then President-elect Trump.
After Trump got elected, Bosa talked to the media where he said if the NFL were to fine him for jumping into the interview shouting a political slogan, he really wouldn’t mind.
Asked whether he thought he would get a fine, he replied: “I don’t know.” “I have not been offered one yet, but if I do receive an offer then so will it be”.
and that he knew he could get a fine from the NFL, but it was “well worth it.”
Bosa for his part said he was not going to change his stance of standing for Trump.
“Quite obviously, the nation has said something and we got something for it according to what we deserved” he noted.
When Bosa wore the hat to interrupt the live interview, a reporter later interviewed him wearing the hat during a postgame press conference about his political message.
“I am unable to say much about that but I guess it is the right time,” he added.
To this, Bosa was asked whether he had ever been tempted to display support for Trump at any one time.
“I noticed that it’s kind of easier nowadays, I don’t want to overemphasize it or something, but, no, I don’t feel very motivated to do that,” he concluded saying, “It’s just a different environment.”
Bosa posed with Trump at the UFC event in Miami this year and has taken a photo to show it, along with Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback.
