BETTING preview Chael Sonnen has made quite a fantasy bout of Jon Jones & Francis Ngannou for a bout that would see Ngannou be picked apart.
Chael Sonnen has said that Jon Jones would choose apart Francis Ngannou like no one’s business.
Dana White announced months ago that after his victory, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones will challenge for the title: In his last fight, Jones knocked out Stipe Miocic in the third round with a powerful kick to the stomach at UFC 309.
In fact, the former light heavyweight champion was a massive favourite in UK betting situ and many MMA fans queried the legitimacy of the bout.
To Jon Jones the most suitable opponent of all the fighters in the UFC was the British heavyweight Tom Aspinall and this formed the sculpture of the UFC 309 preparatory discussions.
MMA fans still expect to see Jones face the Manchester-born heavyweight but the American MMA star has time and again ruled out any prospect of a fight — even with Aspinall as interim champion.
However, former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen has now chosen to look at the angle from a different perspective as he shares his insight on how Jones will fair against the former UFC heavyweight champions – Ngannou.
Still, the Cameroonian heavyweight lost his UFC to the organisation’s president, Dana White over the disagreement and now is the one that reigns in the PFL.
He has also measured himself in boxing, coming up against Tyson Fury in a decision loss and then being knocked out badly by Anthony Joshua.
Even if Jones moves up in weight to fight him, Chael Sonnen says that the former UFC heavyweight champ would be ‘picked apart’.
Sonnen said (Via ESPN MMA’s YouTube): What do you think Jon would have done to Francis Ngannou in retrospect?
In fact, now that we look back, Jon would have picked that big man a part. Well you know what I’m telling you like that is a big man’s nightmare you know. Jon is not a heavyweight; Jon is fighting at this division. As John continued: “There’s a massive difference.”
Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou fight was the talk of UFC fans for several years back but the dawn has broken and now fans are looking forward for Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall.
