Thousands of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fans stormed out without knowing winner

The crowd showered Mike Tyson and Jake Paul with jeers in the second part of their fight that some left the area before the final decision was made. The controversial bout against the YouTuber and 58-year old Mike Tyson, the former world champion in the heavyweight category, was a spectacle in Texas and aired on Netflix.

However, it did not meet the popularity of the expected spectators and the football was deserted half way because of the boring performance. The contest was decided in the ring as Paul won by unanimous decision against ‘Iron Mike’ though the response of the crowd was rather frozen.

The win was unanimous, with one judge scoring it 80-72, the second 79-73, and the third 80-71, which took Paul’s record to 11-1 after a loss to boxer and Love Island star Tommy Fury. Both the fans and former boxing legends criticized the dull nature of the fight, Tyson struggled because of a bad knee and Paul failed to throw a shot to the head as his corner told him before the seventh round that “You can stop Mike now.”

Commenting on Tyson’s performance, Roy Jones Jr, who was providing commentary for Netflix, stated: Mike no longer has it. Legs are gone.”

After the fight, Paul addressed the remaining audience, saying: Mike Tyson, oh my goodness, I have been such an honor. Once again I turn my mic on and I tell the world, today is the day you stand up for Mike and admit he was the greatest to do it. That man is an icon and we wouldn’t be here today ‘with him’.

That is saying something, just the opportunity to be able to fight him, that itself is a privilege. It was really tough fight. I expected it to be. He was just as I imagined him. They don’t come any bigger than this one. An icon. I was trying to make him feel slight pain… I had the feeling that he will do me harm. I did my best.”

However, in the post-fight press conference he declared that he had fought with injury, while blaming Tyson for the fight’s result and showing no emotions about fans’ boos and people who left the hall during the fight.

“Two days ago I sprained my ankle, completely tore the ligament, anterior ligament and like snapped the other side of my foot,” Paul averred but Mirror Sport could not independently confirm this. I was on crutches for about four or five days, and it really did not allow me to finish my training camp. I do not know how it did not leak, or anything like that.

The attitude I wanted to present to the fans was that we were having a competition of a sort but I didn’t need to or want to injure someone who didn’t have to be injured at that point. I believe there was a time where he (Tyson) was not in reply, I could just see he was getting old. That violence war thing… that went away as the rounds went on.

“People just love to hate me. I mean to say stuff for people to hate. That’s what I like to do. If people want to see more… give me a couple of months. I attempted to offer the finest fight that was humanly possible. It is very difficult to make something interesting out of a fight where one of them is merely existing in the ring. I have no regard for what people have to say. It is what it is.”

The match began as Paul targeted Tyson in using his young age effectively to rear a jab and then move out of reach. Tyson was al; so able to score couple of big body punches before the two fighters grabbed each other, to the annoyance of the spectators.

The second round was similar, Paul tried as much as he could to avoid Tyson’s notoriously heavy blows and clinched again. The third round saw Tyson go full-swing only to receive match after match of Tyson’s left hooks.

Feeling the بنابر, the YouTuber continued to beat Tyson who remained immobile most of the time until the bell saved him. Tyson began the fourth round being careless in response to the missed jabs, this apparently backfired as Paul was able to circle around and select his own spots on the now fatigued Tyson.

Paul caught Tyson with a two punch combination, a right and a left before the halfway mark of the fight where Tyson started moving in and out of range as Paul wouldn’t let him catch his breath to get into his groove, Tyson connected with an overhand right at the end of the round. In the sixth round Tyson did fairly well to make Paul back up from each attempt at connecting while Tyson and Paul traded hard punches to end the seventh round with Tyson landing a shot to the head.

But in fact the luta was already over before the climax, Tyson was too slow in getting off from the corner stool. Tyson’s famous power did not appear to be in his punch and the two embraced as the bell sounded.
